Spectre Law practises real estate law and nothing else, from Calgary, for clients across Alberta. That focus is deliberate. Doing the same kind of work every day builds the judgment that catches problems while they are still small and cheap to fix.
Why we only do real estate
Real estate law rewards depth. Real Property Reports, Dower Act consents, condo document review, GST on new builds, protocol closings, CMHC security packages. Each one has specific rules, and each one punishes improvisation. A firm that closes transactions every day catches in seconds what a general practice might not notice until the eleventh hour.
That depth is also why larger files come here. Our lawyers run every type of file: home closings, apartment building purchases, CMHC-insured financing, and commercial deals. Lenders, insurers, and opposing counsel expect the paperwork to arrive complete, and running every file to that standard is the whole point of the firm.
How we work
Every file is handled by one of our lawyers, who you can reach directly. We explain things in plain language, quote standard residential work as a flat fee before we start, and scope larger files openly so you understand the economics on day one.
We also work the way people live now. Documents move electronically, signing happens in person, by video where permitted, or with a local commissioner, and Alberta’s single Land Titles system lets us close anywhere in the province without you ever making the drive.
And we pay attention to the market we practise in. Rates, rents, and what lenders are actually approving this quarter all shape our advice, because legal advice that ignores the market is only half an answer.
The team and the office
Spectre Law’s lawyers are members of the Law Society of Alberta, supported by a conveyancing team that treats a possession date as a promise. When you call, you talk to the lawyer working on your file.
